Perfect location, quality Hotel for Madrid City break

Check-in to Check-out. Great. Very friendly staff, pleased to assist. Breakfast buffet good value to start your day off, Hot & Cold meats lots of choice something for everyone's palate. Busy but well managed and clean. Room was spotless, quiet and modern with amazing shower. Large comfortable bed, had really good sleeps everyone of one 5 nights, considering location we heard no sound from outside and hardly any noise from others guests. Lots of Bars and restaurants near by spoilt for choice. Close proximity to Metro. As a recommend, get the Madrid City Tour open top bus, frequent service, you get a real sense of where places of note are. We walked a lot, you need to do some as buses cant get that close to Plaza Mayor and the pedestrian area around Carlos III statue, both areas a must do. Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did.

The hotel is perfectly located - just 30min on the metro to the airport, easy walking to the Gran Via and main centre... or a 1 min walk to the nearest metro station. We were in room 421 - which was spotlessly clean with a great shower... BUT the walls were paper thin, bed was very hard and it was noisy! Noise all night from the street and renovations in the neighbouring building that seemed to go on all night, only to be replaced by the noise of the cleaners - turns out their cupboard was right outside our room. We were right opposite the lift and I was worried that would be noisy - but with all the other noise we never heard the lift! Breakfast in the hotel was average - much better and cheaper in the nearby cafes such as Manolo Bakes or Mallorca. Many great restaurants and bars within a 5 min walk. Bring ear plugs, drink lots of local wine, which is ridiculously cheap and hope for a good night's sleep!

My third stay here; probably my last. The first was in 2000 so you could say I've stuck with it. It's always been a great experience. But being called at 12:01 on the day of check out to be told that if I didn't get down to reception in the next five minutes then I would be landed with a late check-out charge (she was as blunt as that) I found outrageous. For a four-star hotel to be resorting to the kind of brazen extortion you'd expect from a cheap hostal is staggering. It's not simpatico; its muy mal educado as well as being highly questionable from a business ethics perspective - even if it's set out in the terms and conditions. Even if you felt it was necessary at one minute past check-out time, would you really put it like that?

Alvaro friendly at check in and actually upgraded us without knowing. When we got to room toilet didn’t flush properly. I spoke with Catalina who brought a staff member to check twice and she said well there is no one to fix it until Monday abd it was a Friday. When I asked her to change the room, she said no but then said let me check. She did and it was the basic room, refusing to give the sane room saying they were full but I could pay for upgrade in morning abd to talk to the staff then. I was so tired since that took 2 hrs alone. The room 105 was horrible, noise all-nighter and could hear things being dragged and footsteps. In morning I spoke with Irene and she was not willing to change the room nor honour the upgrade. I was upset given the room we were given was bad. No consideration. So I left a review on tripadvisor and still decided to give them a chance later that day. Alvaro again was so nice and said I had to talk to the manager on the morning but I was not given that option by any other staff. I was told I should have called them I. The middle of the night to complain about the noise but their phone ms diner work. I told them I left a review. Day 3 morning Irene was surprisingly nice and said so sorry for the inconvenience and upgraded me to 5th floor. I said it shouldn’t have taken so long and she says she didn’t have all the info. I told her I was the customer and I was giving her all the info. The room was upgraded but the shower head was busted . I was not wanting to move 4th time. And I forgot to mention the noise in the hotel is sooo loud, I even recorded it to show them. Save your money, don’t stay here and location is not great to downtown, although metro convenient. A hotel should be nice with good customer service. This was not worth it. Don’t stay and the staff need to learn courteous service without being condescending . I took down my tripadvisor review because it was only partial story but here’s the full goods.

The staff was not friendly at all, instead I can say they were rude to the guests, from our experience at first they could not find our hotel confirmation, nor with the confirmation number nor with the name of surname we had to wait half an hour till another more friendly actually maybe the only friendly young woman could found our room confirmation. Also the last my baby was laughing and playing while waiting for a taxi and the one of the rude employees told to keep silence while they were talking very loudly it did not count but baby laughing interrupted her I don’t know how. About clearness, the kitchen dishes were not clean, the room also was not that much clean for a 4 star hotel it worth nothing, it was good for 2 stars hotel maybe, I would not recommend anyone to choose this hotel. The only good thing about it was the location, nothing more.
